Schouten Europe launches Taste of the World Burgers
Schouten Europe, a pioneer in plant-based alternatives to meat and fish, is expanding its product range with the launch of the new Taste of the World Burgers concept. This new line features three unique burgers inspired by international cuisines: the Mexican Burger, the Italian Burger, and the Thai Burger.

A new approach to plant-based products
With the Taste of the World Burgers, Schouten is taking a different approach compared to traditional meat substitutes. Rather than imitating meat, these burgers offer their own distinct flavor profiles, based on natural ingredients such as legumes and vegetables.
Mark van Noorloos, Marketing Manager at Schouten Europe, explains: “Consumers are increasingly looking for plant-based products that stand on their own. By moving away from direct comparisons with meat, we’re able to deliver unique flavors and textures that appeal to a variety of culinary preferences.”

A follow-up to previous innovations
Earlier this year, Schouten introduced Power Bites and Sea Bites—products that also have their own identity without being direct meat or fish alternatives. The Taste of the World Burgers concept continues this line of innovative, plant-based offerings. The family-owned company from Brabant is presenting the new burgers to customers both domestically and internationally starting this week. Each burger weighs approximately 90 grams and can also be purchased individually.

Popular flavors
Schouten sees the introduction of the Taste of the World Burgers as a step toward a more sustainable and healthier food system. “People are genuinely motivated to eat less meat, but they still want products they enjoy. By focusing on popular flavors with this concept, we expect consumers will appreciate these products. All the burgers are rich in vegetables. Their crispy coating and soft interior are distinctive and appealing,” says Van Noorloos.
