Schouten Europe joins KVK Innovation Top 100 with plant-based fillet
Schouten Europe has once again earned a place among the Netherlands’ 100 most innovative companies in 2026. Our plant-based fillet, featuring our proprietary fibre technology, has secured a spot in the KVK Innovation Top 100 2026. This recognition celebrates our family business’s commitment to innovation and the work of our R&D team.
Innovative fibre technology
Launched earlier this year, the plant-based fillet uses fibre technology developed by Schouten. This technology creates a firm, meat-like texture without traditional textured proteins.
The technology also contributes to a less processed product and may further reduce its environmental impact. Depending on the product formulation and supply chain, internal analyses indicate a potential reduction of approximately 10–30%.
The fillet also stands out for its product qualities. Each 95-gram fillet offers a succulent texture, a light, chicken-like colour, high protein and fibre content, and a Nutri-Score A rating. Suitable for a variety of hot dishes, the fillet is also easy to marinate.
