The Dutch family business Schouten Europe B.V. introduces a vegan Mexican Bean Burger this week. The product is available at various supermarket chains in The Netherlands.
Bean Burger
Schouten sells the product under its GoodBite brand. The product will also soon be sold by a well-known Dutch retailer under the supermarket chain’s own brand. A package of Mexican Bean Burgers contains two burgers of 80 grams. The burgers can be eaten with the hot meal, on a sandwich or with a salad. The main ingredients are kidney beans and several vegetables.
Improvement
Schouten previously sold a Bean Burger in Dutch retail. “We have chosen to further improve our Bean Burger and we think that this Mexican version will suit consumers even better,” said Mark van Noorloos, marketing manager at Schouten.
First Dutch company
In 1990, Schouten became the first Dutch company to develop meat substitutes based on vegetable proteins. With one of the most extensive and varied assortments in the world, Schouten’s products are sold under their own GoodBite brand and under store brands in supermarkets both in the Netherlands and abroad. Schouten also develops many new products based on customer demand.
